InvestAssist does not use advertising cookies or analytics cookies.
On invest-assist.com and app.invest-assist.com, we use only cookies or similar browser storage that are necessary to provide requested functionality, especially authentication, session continuity, security, and routing.
We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate website understanding. It does not use cookies or persistent browser identifiers and does not track a visitor between different days or websites. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, session replay, heatmaps, or cross-site advertising trackers.
Inside the signed-in portal, we may record a limited server-side event such as whether and when My Brief was viewed. That gives us a basic beta engagement measure without placing an optional analytics cookie or third-party tracking tag on your device.
Because the website itself uses only necessary browser storage, we do not show a general accept/reject cookie banner for the current MVP. If we later add non-essential cookies or comparable browser tracking, we will obtain any consent required before using them.
The current beta also does not use email-open tracking pixels or click-tracking links. We may record ordinary delivery events such as sent, delivered, bounced, or failed so we can operate email delivery.
1What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by a website. Websites and apps can also use similar technologies, such as local storage, session storage, pixels, web beacons, or other mechanisms that store information on or access information from a device.
This policy covers the cookies and similar browser-storage technologies InvestAssist uses on its own domains. It also explains our current approach to email tracking for completeness.
2Necessary authentication and session storage
The exact technical cookie or storage names can change when our authentication library or hosting configuration changes. For that reason, we describe the purpose and category rather than publishing brittle cookie names that may become inaccurate after an ordinary software update.
| Category | Provider | Purpose | Status | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication/session storage | InvestAssist / Supabase | Keeps an authenticated user signed in, refreshes the session where needed, and allows protected portal pages to work | Necessary | Session and/or persistent for the period required to maintain the chosen sign-in session |
| Security/authentication flow data | InvestAssist / Supabase | Prevents authentication abuse and completes sign-in or account-recovery flows | Necessary | Short-lived or for the duration of the relevant authentication flow |
| Hosting/routing storage, if technically set | InvestAssist / Vercel | Security, routing, load balancing, or delivery of the requested service | Necessary | Usually session or short-lived |
We do not intentionally set third-party advertising or analytics cookies on InvestAssist pages.
If you choose Google sign-in, your browser also interacts directly with Google’s authentication service. Cookies or other storage used on Google’s own domains are controlled by Google and are covered by Google’s policies, not set by InvestAssist on our domains.
3What we do not use on the website
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No Google Analytics or analytics cookies
- No Meta Pixel or LinkedIn Insight Tag
- No session replay or heatmapping
- No cross-site behavioural advertising trackers
The public marketing site and public login/signup pages use only Vercel’s cookieless aggregate page-view analytics. We do not add custom behavioural events or enable this aggregate analytics component on signed-in product pages.
4Signed-in portal engagement measurement
We do want to know whether the beta product is being used. When an authenticated user opens My Brief, InvestAssist may record a small first-party event on our server, such as the account identifier and the time the brief was viewed.
This is not implemented by adding an analytics cookie, advertising identifier, session replay tool, or third-party analytics tag to your browser. It is limited account activity used to evaluate the beta and is described in our Privacy Policy.
We do not use this information to follow you across websites or build an advertising profile.
5Email delivery
We may record ordinary delivery events such as sent, delivered, bounced, or failed. These are used to operate email delivery and troubleshoot problems and do not tell us whether you actually read a message.
In the current beta, InvestAssist does not use tracking pixels to measure email opens and does not use tracked links to measure clicks in Brief emails or marketing emails.
6Managing browser storage
Your browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies and similar storage. The settings differ by browser.
Blocking necessary authentication storage may prevent the portal from keeping you signed in or may stop authentication from working correctly.
Deleting existing storage and blocking future storage are separate actions; your browser may require you to do both if that is what you want.
7How this relates to personal data
Authentication/session information and signed-in activity can be linked to an InvestAssist account and can therefore be personal data. Operational email-delivery events can also be personal data when linked to an email address or account.
How we use that data, our legal bases, providers, retention approach, and your rights are explained in our Privacy Policy.
8Changes to this policy
If we add a non-essential website cookie or comparable browser-tracking technology, we will update this policy and obtain consent before using it where the law requires consent.
We keep dated copies of previous versions and will provide one on request.
